TANZANIA National Business Council (TNBC) plans to strengthen the business environment in the country’s quest to achieve its industrialisation agenda.

This is the promise given by TNBC Executive Committee Chairperson, Ambassador John Kijazi, when he met its members over the weekend. “We are committed to facilitate industrialisation of our country,” said Ambassador Kijazi, who is also Chief Secretary.
The committee is made up of 18 members from the public and private sectors. Mr Reginald Mengi, the Chairperson of the Tanzania Private Sector Foundation (TPSF) is a Co-Chair of the committee. President John Magufuli is the Chairperson of TNBC. Ambassador Kijazi said the next TNBC meeting is planned for in November this year.
TNBC Executive Secretary, Eng Raymond Mbilinyi, said the focus of the council is to facilitate government’s endeavours to see industrialisation takes root in Tanzania. He urged both the public and private sectors to cooperate in order to realise the nation’s industrialisation agenda.
“We will identify areas of improving the our business environment,” he said. He noted that apart from those efforts, the council also focuses on strengthening regional and district business councils.
“Regional and district business councils’ chairpersons have huge responsibility in creating good business climate in their areas to attract investments,” he explained, adding that the success of industrialisation depends largely on the level of business environment.
